STAFF BIOGRAPHY


Jordan earned his Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in 2013. He is a Board-Approved Supervisor, with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners. He provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families and views the relationship as an integral process in moving towards change. Jordan works with children, adolescents, and adults. He works with individuals and couples dealing with family issues, substance abuse, stress, depression, anxiety, and past trauma. Jordan is trained in EMDR therapy has worked in a variety of settings including schools, churches, and hospitals. He views the counseling relationship as a process in which a faithful follower of Christ utilized his or her God-given gifts, training, knowledge, and experiences, following the direction of the Holy Spirit, in the task of walking with others toward spiritual maturing, emotional health, cognitive truth, relational stability, and behavioral accountability in a caring and supportive environment. Over his tenure, he has spent 5 plus years working with individuals and groups in an outpatient setting as well as approximately 4 years as the Assistant Director of Wellness and Education at Louisiana Tech University.

Karen earned her Master’s of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in 2003. Karen is a Board-approved Licensed Professional Counselor with Supervision privilege licensed in the state of Louisiana with over 15 years’ experience as a licensed counselor. She works with individuals struggling with various life challenges which include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, and grief/loss. Karen has experience helping individuals with ADD navigate school or work situations. She also helps individuals, such as college students or non-traditional students returning to school, with academic concerns such as adjustment issues, how to study for college setting, and time management. Karen believes the relationship between the therapist and the client is the most important element of therapy. She considers building rapport and trust with the individual as essential in the therapeutic process. Karen works through a Christian lens to help individuals identify and establish their goals for therapy and work towards accomplishing those goals. She uses client-centered therapy along with Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals meet their goals.

Danielle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the State of Louisiana. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with her Master of Science in Social Work in 2013.  Danielle knows life has its ups and downs and for some there seem to be more downs than ups. She focuses her counseling on hope! Danielle has experience working with all ages through group, individual, family, and couples counseling. Through her experiences at different agencies including hospitals, private practice, and school settings. She has a special interest in helping individuals work through trauma, family, and marital counseling. Danielle believes in implementing practical and research-based practices as well as including their natural support systems (such as family, religion, friends, etc.) in treatment.  Danielle believes therapy is a team effort and that the clients are their own experts in their life and sometimes just need someone to teach them new practical coping skills to deal with life’s stressors.

Leigh retired from the State of Louisiana after working 34 years in Information Technology. The last 15 years of her career she served in a supervisory role over the Desktop installation team and the Help Desk team. In 2014, she began serving as ministry assistant at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. She relocated to Ruston in January 2021 and began serving as the secretary/receptionist of the Temple Counseling Center in February 2022. In this capacity, she is responsible for answering the phone, setting up appointments and maintaining the client database. Leigh enjoys working with people and counts it as a joy and privilege to come along side each client to make this experience as comfortable as possible.
